This is a great pergola for the price! It was a lot to put together. One of the pieces got dented in the set up process but it’s minor. The louvred top is easy to adjust. We absolutely love this pergola for our backyard garden retreat! But it doesnt assemble and build itself lol so be ready for a big job! Youll need 2-3 people, a well prepped space, and a lot of patience. It came in 6 long and fairly heavy boxes. However, the boxes are very well marked, everything is nicely organized, and the instructions are excellent. The materials are all of good quality. My only worry is the hardware is not stainless steel so I will have rust happening eventually here in our salty coastal Florida environment. Depending on what sturdy base youll be installing this pergola on, either concrete or wood, youll need to buy the respective anchors to secure it. This pergola is now our favorite space to unwind and relax. I love that I can close the louvers above to escape the summer sun but can open for clear and starry nights. We installed some soft solar lights to give a tropical, resort feel. Pretty nice and sturdy. It comes in 7 boxes + box with screens and curtains if that’s the model purchased. I wish the assembly instructions were in box one and that the instructions told you where the hardware was, The instructions and hardware are in box 5. Make sure all parts are not damaged before starting assembly especially the key structure parts. Some of my louvers were dented but the didn’t effect my assembly. They were replaced, but it took a week to get the replacements. Wayfair and manufacturer were responsive and easy to deal with but it took time to get the replacement parts. The standout feature is definitely the adjustable louvered roof. Being able to fully open it for sunshine, completely close it for shade or light rain, or position it anywhere in between gives us incredible flexibility throughout the day. It’s one of the main reasons we chose this pergola. Assembly took us about 5 hours, with most of the work being done by one person and occasional help from a second person when needed. We did make a mistake during assembly that was entirely our fault, and it probably cost us at least an hour to correct. Had we not made that error, the installation would have gone even faster. I love this pergola! I had been debating one for years and finally found one with all the features I wanted. We dont have any trees so theres no natural covering, and the backyard gets blasted with sun during the day. This pergola is perfect for manually adjusting the 4 different sections of louvers for the amount of sun wanted. We havent used the curtains or netting yet but I love having the option when needed. We paid for assembly which occurred over 3 days and 3 different crews. Caution- I dont recommend using the included anchors for anchoring to your base, unless your base is absolutely perfectly level. Great looking pergola with easy to follow instructions. Took two adults about 7 hours to build with breaks in between. We also used the recommended expansion bolts to secure it to our cement patio. The wood is very soft so it does dent and scratch easily while we were building it but it doesnt look bad at all. For the Price - This thing is Great. I am really enjoying and so far, holding up steady. I live in the almost always Sunny, Southern California so it has not had to endure much weather related pressure, however it has rained twice. The wind will blow the shade off the magnets and it slides, unless you strap it down with the Provided velcro wrap. My problem is that I am too short to reach it so it would require a step ladder for me every time I want to open or close it... so I personally just leave it unstrapped, and if it blows open too far, i just push it back. also the wind blowing the shade can cause a bit of noise as the fasteners that slide the shade back and forth make a bit of a clanging. Nothing you can't get used to, as I already have. but initially it could be annoying. Since the columns are metal, you can actually hang up magnets on them for an added personal decor that isn't permanent like a sticker. The lighting strip that is built in works good, however, it is extremely dim lighting, mainly gives alil ambiance but does not light up the space fully, so I added a wrapped sting of lights from pole to pole that I already had and definitely helped. Otherwise, I love it... the heighth of it gives a nice cover patio feel and the ability to open or close the shade is the BEST part, so I am very happy.. Dara. Lakewood, CA. Sun May 17 2026
