This is a great mailbox! Love that it stores our mail when we are on vacation. The design is lovely and fits the look of our house. It did take a while (over an hour) for 2 people to install. In addition, we originally thought it was going to be way too big for a mailbox, however the size ended up being perfect and not overbearing. Likes: -We love the way it looks. Unique to other mailboxes in our neighborhood. -The opening is larger for additional mail items such as the smaller packages we receive that usually end up sitting on the ground by our front door (sometimes getting soggy or wet). -Sturdy -Durable plastic material -Magnetic piece to keep the door closed -Love the plant hanger option on the back, easy to assemble. Dislikes: -a little difficult to put together -instructions needed to be clearer regarding attachment of the top to the bottom of the actual mailbox (where the mail goes into). I would expect that a mailbox that is outdoors would have stainless steel screws. With a white finish I can look forward to brown stains from the rusted screws. The mailbox came as ordered and was very well packaged. Assembly was fairly simple, along side a shovel or post hole diggers just some basic tools I.e. screwdriver, players and a adjustable wrench was all that was needed. Oh.. don’t forget most importantly the level. (concrete to set the pole was highly recommended) The size of the mailbox is slightly larger than the average ones that I’ve looked at in some of the local stores. But that was a plus. Metal design was a must as we have purchased magnetic covers to change for different seasons and occasions. The door is is a durable hard plastic and has a strong magnetic latch. The pole was a two piece powder coated metal connection that used screws which were concealed by the bottom decorative base. The hardware that was used for the mailbox base plate itself was also concealed with a hard plastic upper decorative covering. Overall we love the look. It was just enough to stand out but not overdid. We also have ordered a magnetic house number which we can move when needed.
