The frame is made of 1”x2” and the wood isn’t what they said. It looks like pine that was stained. The plexiglass is decent. Once it’s put together it isn’t as flimsy as I thought it would be. One side was made made a little to tall so the lid doesn’t fit perfect and there is a gap between the lid and the doors. Also because of the gap, I had to put the latch on the front sideways instead of the way the directs said to put it. One of the door hinges was all janky and makes it so the door is a little hard to open and close and bent the hinge. But I don’t want to send it back because I want to get my plants started, and I have zero patience.
If one isn’t great at putting things together this may be a little challenging. There are not pilot holes for everything that needs to be installed and out together. The wood being, as I suspect pine, is super soft so using an electric screwdriver for the frame and top works fine, and a small Phillips screwdriver for the hinges and larches works fine. You don’t need to pre-drill the holes. I did have my husband’s help. He was the frame holder together whilst I put in all the screws. So two people is helpful but if you are handy it can be done by one person.
The inside shelf holders have very faint pencil lines that you need to use as guides for the shelves. Again no pre-drilled holes in the frame just the boards for the shelves.
All-in-all for the price it isn’t bad and will work for my indoor green house. I definitely wouldn’t use it outside in any kind of weather, especially snow as it will not hold up to the weight and the elements.. Kat. Ammon, ID. 2021-03-02 19:55:29
