We are using this as a sideboard/bar in our dining room. I looked for a "distressed" black sideboard for a long time that was the right size to fit our small space, but tall enough to comfortable pour drinks and have plenty of storage space inside. Both sides have an adjustable shelf that can go up or down a notch. It took me a minute to figure out the shelf can only be moved after removing screws underneath that secure the shelf to the shelf brackets (I assume for transporting). I chose not to put the screws back in once I adjusted the shelf - no need for it, and it will make it easier to move the shelf again should I decide to. The distressed finish is actually a little more than what I thought it would be, but I don't mind since it goes well with my old window frame hanging above it. The depth of the credenza is also nice and allowed for a large lamp and tray. My only concern will be the durability of the wood. I looked for a mango wood or similar and took a gamble with this which is made of boxwood. It isn't as thick and sounds a bit hollow if you knock on the top of the piece, but the credenza is quite heavy and I am pleasantly surprised by how substantial it feels. Would recommend.. Andrea. This TV console seems sturdy, has good storage, and is the perfect size. Yes, it is a laminate over particle board, but the finish looks nice. I think it’s a good value for the price. It does take a little while to assemble, but it wasn’t bad. My advice to anyone else is to make sure you put a level on it and use your leg adjusters to get it perfectly level before you put the back on to make sure you build it square. That may be why I saw some reviewers saying they couldn’t get the doors quite right. I will say the handles that came with the unit were not a good color. They were practically orange, not champagne bronze-ish like I thought from the photos on the website.
