Better than expected. Seems to be well made. I hired a construction guy/friend to assemble it. He brought two employees, and it took a day and a half to assemble. I have only had it up for a month, and it hasn't been through any harsh weather. I will report if it becomes an issue. It looks great, and all of our Wayfair furniture fits under it and around our gas firepit. Nice addition. It is a good value. Yes, it is expensive, but the quality is good. One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. The roof was flimsy and noisy whenever there was a breeze, and if you forgot to close it tight before a rain, the weight of the water was going to tear it . It actually wasn’t 10x10 as advertised, maybe 9x9, and the sun came under the east & west sides, no you were seldom shielded from the sun. So I tried Wayfair after noticing my neighbor’s, got the same one only I ordered the pulldown screens for 2 sides. It also has a louvered metal roof ( huge improvement), we love it! I’m not sure we could be happier with our gazebo. After spending time budgeting and planning a build-from-scratch project, this became clear to us that it was more affordable and frankly better looking. We love the size of the posts and the look of the metal roof. We are looking to add lights and fan(s) in the near future. Ours is a 15x13. We would consider ourselves very handy with tools and construction. It took four of us (two in our twenties and two in our forties) a three day weekend to put this together. The hardest part was the height of the roof and the reach needed to attach some screws. None of the work is challenging. It just requires some basic construction skills and teamwork (patience).. For the most part this pergola is everything I could have hoped for. Absolutely in love with the look and feel of our patio after installing this. Putting it together is a lot of work so come prepared! The sound on the roof as it rains is so relaxing. We have had extremely high winds with no issues but it has not gone through hail or snow yet so I can’t speak on that currently. This is a great well constructed Gazebo, highly recommend. It took day to build it was a 3 person job. If I break it down in hours 10 hours and that was 6 hours day one 2 hours the second day. The package arrive in great condition, had 4 boxes all parts were there along with extra hardware. Every step followed, no problem with installing it. After it was all put together it was a beautiful sight to see. My family and I will enjoy at our campground of 2 lots. The shipment packaging is extremely well done and even though there was damage to the boxes, the product was sufficiently protected had no damage due to shipping. The 12x20 pergola I ordered is close to 1000 pounds shipping in 7 boxes so the heaviest single box is about 150 lbs so two people are needed to move it around. The instructions recommended 4 people for the install. I had my brother to help but due to the weight I wanted 6 people (one at each post) to move the assembled product to minimize damage to the frame. High quality parts all around but because it’s all aluminum that is great for lower weight but it is still 1/2 ton of weight that needs to be moved around during an installation. I never write anything. BUT, I have to on this one.... I purchase many items that need to be put together and (this is my second gazebo purchase) I must say this Purpleleaf Gazebo exceeded all my expectations. Everything was lettered and numbered. The directions were easy to read. Screws and hardware were labeled. Honestly, I don't think i have had so much success in putting together a large project like this before. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Steps 1 you can do with one person. Step 2 you need 2 people helping you. Step 3 get 3-4 people helping with the roof. Suggesting...screw as you go or they can slip off. This product was great. I bought a 13x15 gazebo to fit over my 16x20 patio. I have done my research and this one was the best choice for me. Its a good size for the space and I love the look. Now here is a few things I don't like. I had some issues with the metal roof. Some of the holes didn't line up. It's a good thing that I am tall with long arms because otherwise you wouldn't be able to reach both ends of the nut and bolt. They say this can be setup in 2.5 hours with 4 people. I think that's hilarious. I would like to see that. I just needed help standing the legs, the rest I did by myself. It took me less than a week to build. I was working on it a few hours a day after work. I also wish it had more roof support. Since I am very handy, I will be adding my own additional roof support. By adding more support it will add more weight so hopefully it will withstand wind over 60 mph. Just make sure if you are unsure about a part, jump ahead in the manual and see how it comes together. I had to do that with a few steps. Overall we are happy with our purchase. If you are not very handy this can be difficult for you. This pergola is a modern addition that looks sharp attached to my old house. I would have given it five stars. However, it required three professionals and took them four hours to install. Lots of pieces and time in this but it was worth it. its nice that you can open the louvers to let sun in when you want it. I wasn’t sure this could be as perfect as it is considering the affordable price. It has exceeded expectations. Other reviews have mentioned the difficult assembly directions. I found the directions to be sufficient and was able to assemble the pergola properly, in a reasonable amount of time. Allow most of a day to do it. Having two people to assist you makes the construction of the pergola much easier and safer. Particularly important as the various parts are put together and erected.
