Dimensions may vary slightly from selected, due to the nature of the wood and the time effect on it. We use pine boards for our distressed mantels. The final product might appear a bit lighter or darker because of the lighting and nature of the wood.

We chose this for the color as it was the best match to what we wanted to do with the stone we are placing. Plus it states it can take the heat which is a great bonus. Although hanging at the correct distances away from the heat it gives an added security it won't get overly hot. The mantle has striations/lines within and not a uniform color which I really like it (see photo of mantle side) and it adds to the overall look. Great quality, easy to hang and light weight while looking substantial. I have enclosed a photo of the stone we are using although we have not started that project yet.
