I just love this vacuum. It cleans up the mess very quickly especially when you have three cats. I would give this vacuum 10 stars if I could. I don’t have any animals but I recently purchased a velvet sofa that is basically a lint magnet! It drove me insane wipping off the sofa every other day. I was having second thoughts about the purchase but I then thought to purchase a handheld vacuum and omg I’m so happy I did. Sucked the lint away in matter of seconds. Picks up fast and quick and the attachments are perfect for my hall stairs so I can remove the brush and use the hose so I’m not placing the dirty brush on my sofa after using it to vacuum up dirt tracked in from outdoors. Instead of 5 stars, I give 5 paws. I have two cats. For sake of their anonymity I shall refer to them as Kitty 1 and Kitty 2. Fortunately or unfortunately, depending upon your perspective, they are Siamese. Kitty 1 has a bit of an OCD, she is not her best self if there are messes or disorganization. Seriously, I am not projecting. She wipes her paws on the mat outside the litter box after she has meticulously covered up her excrements. She is cleaner than some people I have stood next to on the subway. She also listens when gently reprimanded after which I get a very vocal attitude, much like man-spreaders on the subway. She is not the reason why I needed this fantastic invention, in fact she is the one that ordered it with my credit card. She is that smart btw. Kitty 2 is the reason. Oh where do I begin with Kitty 2? Kitty 2 has a very sad story, he is a rescue. I had him as a kitten and he has a freakishly long tail. He is super cute and just does not shut up. He is a talker. Kitty 2 was accidentally separated from his mother (he somehow got out and lost) does not have the normal social skills needed to thrive. He is super sweet and loving which voids his shortcomings. He does not clean himself well and still, after 7years, dry nurses on his blankie. He sheds constantly in spite of baths and proper nutrition. Dear Bast, how is it that a 7lb cat has so much freaking fur. It gets everywhere. I literally hermetically seal my closet to keep his fur at bay. I dare not put on work clothes until I am ready to leave for the day. Seriously need to set up a web cam to find out how in the h e double toothpicks he gets litter in the most non amusing places. One day I was walking to the subway and I thought I had a small stone in my shoe. Nope, LITTER Ewwwwwww. How did he even get in my hermetically sealed closet? Some sort of Kitty sorcery I suppose or perhaps I have a vanishing cabinet or maybe he uses floo powder. That is why I need a webcam. This machine is so awesome, it vacuums up the litter and fur with powerful wizardry suction, it leaves the floor so clean. Fur what fur? This machine is everything. Buy this machine, you won’t be sorry. I don’t know how I lived for 7 years without it. First, let me just go ahead and say that I vacuumed with my less than 6 month old Bissell less than 12 hours ago….. and then got this this morning. Pros assembly, swivel the suction!!! Cons unable to easily remove the roller, the canister is super tiny also, had to empty it at least 5 times for whole house, which is super disappointing because that’s the whole reason why I bought a new vacuum You get what you pay for ‍♀️. I've always had Shark or other uprights that actually cost MORE than this Bissell, but saw this one when I was searching for an area rug when our 2-year-old Shark broke and thought why not? It was on sale and the reviews were great. So I've used it a few weeks now, and am VERY impressed because: 1. that swivel is NICE; none of my bagless uprights (my preferred method, owning at least 2 dogs during the span of my adulthood and raising 2 children, 3 if you count my husband) have ever swiveled, and it really makes a difference. 2. Oh, my, the the cord automatically retracts, which none of my previous uprights have done. Only my cannister Miele does it, and that's my hardwood floor deep-suction vacuum that I can't use on carpets; the motor is TOO powerful. (It's THE vacuum if you own a 200-year-old original-hardwood-floor-home like I do, though) 3. This Bissell really DOES get to the very edge of the floor, and I've never seen a vacuum that does that, either! 4. And will wonders ever cease, it's the first upright I've owned that reaches about 6 inches under the couch! Found 3 Legos under the bookcase (embarrassing) and my youngest is 22. 5. If you refer to the 2 photos, the first shows the living room deep-pile area rug after one vacuuming at the next-to-highest setting for rugs on the Bissell. I did that today after it had not been vacuumed for about five days (I'm lazy, too). This is a good setting for the vacuum for a "first go" on that rug. It gets all that surface dog hair (2 dogs, one sheds a LOT) and dirt my hubs brings in on his boots, etc. But if you run the vacuum again on the very center setting, the second picture shows you what you get in the cannister, which is deep-down, fine-grain dirt and whatever that is that I don't want to think about. And it doesn't take a lot of added effort, either. I'm 64 years old, have some arthritis, but I can still push and pull on this vacuum (I'd better; my husband won't). But I say that because with a lot of our previous vacuums, you HAD to have it set to the highest pile to clean this rug or it just couldn't be pushed or pulled over it no matter your strength, and to have it on the middle setting was impossible. But this vacuum, in my opinion - and maybe ALL their vaccums -- was meant to be used on a lower setting to get the deepest dirt in your rug AFTER you get the junk on top with the highest or next-to-highest setting. And the good news is that you can still push it. I didn't experiment and find this out till last week, so that's why there's so much dirt in the second picture, but last week when I did it for the first time the cup was half full, since it had never been done in the 2 years or so we've owned this rug (which I love and was also bought at Wayfair :) Sorry for the long review, but I obviously am impressed with the vacuum, and if this one breaks, I'll probably go back and buy the same one..
