This fan works! I live in a small open style townhouse. My kitchen is essentially open to my living space so it is important to me that I can keep the odors under control - as in sucking them out of the room (vented outside)! Or it has saved me during those times I "over broil" something and the smoke pours out of the oven when I open the door. I quickly turn this fan on to HIGH and it keeps the smoke from triggering the smoke alarm! Perfect! PROS: multiple speeds (4 or 5) that are impressive, 2 lights, grills to catch grease and can be cleaned in dishwasher, great price for the higher CFM - I did a lot of shopping! Relatively low depth (7") so you don't hit your head - but I confess I am only 5' 2"! Nonetheless I needed a fan that wasn't very deep to fit under my existing cabinet. CONS: yes it will be noisy if you use above the lowest speed but hey, how else will you suck out the odors?, an electronic touch screen that isn't very sensitive when lowering the fan speed, not intuitive to setting the clock - I have to read the manual to reset the clock if the power goes out, there is a feature to set the fan to automatically turn off after 15 minutes but I would have to read the manual to use it so I don't. I live the range hood. The baffle filters are a big plus! It was delivered with a tiny dent right in front , but I’ll live with it. Also it came with a plug, when the listing did not mention that. Bought this because the vent on my above the range microwave was not sucking up steam efficiently. Had lots of oil build up over the years under the microwave and it would sometimes even drip into the food while cooking. The vent on this Cosmo appliance is a beast. I was worried about false advertising when the specs said it has 900cfm but it lives up to it’s word. Great price too. Nothing escapes the power of these vent fans. Even on it’s lowest settings the rising steam still gets sucked up from the back or front of the stove top. The LED lights are bright and make cooking very visible without using our recessed kitchen lights. The side shots of my photos are taken using only the lights on the hood vent. The side shots are also taken from the lowest fan settings to the highest settings while the pots were boiling water. In all four pics you can see the steam getting sucked up. The front shot is the only pic with my kitchen lights on. The only “con” i have had so far was with the installation instructions. The directions were poor. The product came with several different types of screws but with no clear indication for which to use and where. Instructions basically said to mount it on the wall and under the cabinet. . Richard. It looks great over the stove, yet the installation was a doozy! This hood has a plug and the old one was hard-wired in 2008 in a house that was built in 1959. The electrician had to become a carpenter and install a plug in the upper cabinet to plug it in.
