These brackets really deserve 5 stars but one of mine had a defect that almost caused me to have to pause the whole project and get a replacement. There was a nub of metal on the inside of the bracket where the header beam goes about 4 inches from the end. The beams themselves fit inside the brackets perfectly and slid in easily, I just couldnt get it past this metal nub. I wound up having to gouge the wood with a screwdriver by about a 14 inch to make a track for the metal to sit in. For assembly, I installed the swing hangers on the header beam first, then attached the brackets. Laying the beam on its side, I installed the top two legs (the ones pointing upward towards the sky). Then I rolled the header back onto its other side and installed the other two legs, which were now on top. I needed help to get the swing set upright and into position. Youll need at least 5 feet behind the swing set away from any structures to allow for backswing and space for a parent to push a child on the swing. Just an FYI - I do find ground anchors are needed for this swing set if you expect multiple bigger kids or adults to use it. I used a 10-foot 4x6 header beam and 8 foot 4x4s for the legs and mounted a baby swing and two belt swings. I also used two 47 2x6s to brace the legs on each side. When I swing on it alone, the rear legs will lift a little when I get to a certain height. The ground anchors stop that altogether. As far as configuration goes, I hung three swings 18 from each end with 15 in between each swing. The swing chains are 18 apart for each swing. Special tools needed I did need a 14 drill bit for the bracket hardware and a 916 bit for mounting the swing hangers. I needed a ratchet set to tighten the lag bolts that come with the brackets, too. I used a tape measure and t-square for measuring and marking. The swing set is very sturdy. It took me about 6 hours altogether, but that wasnt uninterrupted and I was being extra cautious since Im pregnant. Ive gotten lots of compliments on it and my daughter loves it.. Christine. The Bolt Down bracket system enables pergola owners to mount their pergola safely and securely to a wood deck or cement patio. Simply measure your footprint and bolt the galvanized steel brackets into place. Insert 4 x 4 (10cm x 10cm) pressure-treated wood posts (purchased separately) into the brackets and screw them in place. Slide your pergola posts over the wood posts, and screw the pergola posts into the wood. The result is a lasting installation that is safe and rigid. This mounting system was specifically designed for Vita brand pergolas. We highly recommend that if you are installing any of these vinyl Pergolas on a flat surface, you purchase this kit. The mounting system comes with brackets and 1.5” (3.8cm) self-tapping screws. The bolt-down brackets are guaranteed for 5 years against defects. Important note: do not use the bolt-down bracket system for installing the pergola over concrete pavers, patio stones, or interlocking bricks. Extra materials are required depending on the type of installation, you will be required to purchase the following hardware: if mounting the Pergola onto an existing concrete surface: 1/4” x 2 3/4” cement screws, countersunk head (12), 3/16” concrete drill bit. Minimum 3” long (1), 4 x 4 x ?* pressure-treated wood posts if used for a Pergola (4) (length depends on the pergola selected) 1/2” x 3 1/2“ x 12” long wood shims to “build-out” posts (32). If mounting pergola onto a wooden or composite deck with an accessible underside: 1/4” x ?” bolts and nuts countersunk head (12), 1/4” washers (12) (length depends on blocking material), 1/4” wood drill bit. Minimum 3” long (1), 4 x 4 x ?* pressure-treated wood posts if used for a pergola (4). (length depends on the pergola selected), 1/2” x 3 1/2“ x 12” long wood shims to “build-out” posts (32). Tools required: power or hammer drill (impact) with proper bit according to installation preference. Approx. Time commitment: 1 person, 1-2 hours.

  • Color: Gray
  • Assembly Required: Yes
  • : 4 Brackets

Perfect fit. We live in a Windy City and the brackets hold down the Pergola nicely.. Renee. Lubbock, TX. 2022-04-21 15:19:19
