I bought this crate as it is approved for Alaska airlines -this is a 500 series and for a 72-pound labrador who will be flying in the cargo hold. Assembly is easy enough, no tools needed, and the crate has enough space for my lab to turn around inside and sit. It feels very secure and the door of the crate has small holes on all 4 corners so that it can be secured via zip ties for travel. This is one of the very few crates available and approved for air travel, so I am happy I found it and it shipped very quickly as my lab needs to practice her crate training before our flight. What I do not like about this crate: - plastic wing nuts to secure the bolts aren't ideal, they should just include the aluminum ones by default. I had to buy the aluminum ones separately. - quality control issues - there are 3 missing washers because of which the corners cant be secured. Without the washers, the bolt just slides through the hole. I had to purchase washers separately, a set that includes 9 sizes, as I do not know what size is appropriate here, which is an additional pain point. As small and insignificant as a washer might seem, it is a very important component as the crate will be useless without. They should include these as well. - no ease of purchase - they should include all-travel related components as one bundle. crate, mat, live animal stickers, animal passport, food and water bowls etc. I had to buy these separately.. I bought three of these large size mats. I have two Boxers and a very big Lab mix. The mats fit really well in the huge crates I'm using. The large size mat is perfect for the large size cot as well. It appears they will wash well and fit easily in my washer. This will be less work for me and be cleaner for them. I had hoped that this mat would be a solution to the obsession with removing the stuffing from everything(!) one of these brats is always taking out of her stuff. This bad girl doesn't know the value of a dollar or thirty. Maybe she just hates doggie beds and pillows. She could be trying to fluff it more. I'm not sure why, but she has already torn her mat and started pulling the stuffing out. I'm not surprised. This is her M.O. There isn't a doggie bed, pillow or blanket that she hasn't opened and pulled the stuffing out of. Fortunately for both of us she limits her damages to dog bedding and not people bedding. My 4 month old Belgian Malinois has been growing fast so after comparing a few crates I decided on this one and I'm really glad I did. At 30" high X 39.5" long it's roomy enough for my long dog who is growing taller by the week, it was easy to assemble, and I really like the fact that the nuts and bolts were made of metal rather than plastic as other similar designs have in theirs. I like that it has wheels too so that it could easily be pushed wherever you want to move it. The only things that the manufacturer could improve upon that I could see are 1) the two bowls for food and water (which should be metal to prevent a dog from chewing and ingesting the plastic, and 2) the weigh/thickness of the bottom could be increased, as I notice that it bows somewhat and the crate rocks back and forth when the dog moves around in it..
