Love my barn door I feel the product is of good quality and adds a nice decor to my room. As much as I liked the idea of windows it shined too much light into my bedroom so I had added the darken film to them. I don't think the recommendations for the size were accurate I would have bought the next size up for my 28" doorway. It recommended add 1 inch and I feel it should have been 2 inches.. Vivian. The kit was very easy to put together. For older houses, I would suggest preparing to trimming the bottom part of the door since walls can be crooked. Make sure that your measurements are correct from the bottom to the middle of the rail. I highly encourage the use of a header board. Other than that, I loved how it turned out .
