There are manufacturing imperfections like little air bubbles in the finish and small scratches in some of the plates, big enough to see but not enough to return, so you need to have a small window of tolerance for that.. These are very nice wall plates and well worth the money. What I didn't realize was that it sits out a lot farther from the wall than standard wall plates. I about had a stroke bringing the existing light switches out away from the electrical box and making sure they were evenly spaced to fit into the wall plate. BUT, so worth it in the end.. Ephraim.
