Per the detailed measuring instructions; "We will manufacture your slide-outs to the exact dimensions of the opening you provide, with an approximate 1/4 inch clearance of the opening on each side." So, the front wood trim of the shelf will always measure 1/2 inch less than the width of the clear cabinet opening to ensure that it fits the cabinet perfectly. We recommend that you select the clear-width opening of your cabinet. We will manufacture the shelf and rails to fit within the opening. If you were to select 20" as the opening the usable width inside the shelf would be approximately 17 5/8". To remove the slide-out shelf, extend the shelf out, and locate the black levers on each side of the shelf rails.
