I did a lot of research regarding the weight capacity of metal beds. We have a king size black beauty rest mattress that works best with box springs so the total mattress weight has to be around 200lbs. My husband and I combined are just under 400 lbs. so I wanted a minimum of 700 lbs to more than cover. Also my husband is 6’2” and I was concerned about his feet getting caught in the footboard. We tested it without the box springs because the bed doesn’t require those. He didn’t have any issues but we ended up adding the box springs anyway. Now the bed with the springs goes higher than the footboard. The mattress height alone is 14 inches and box springs add about 4 inches. The bed frame is heavy at just under 103 pounds so that was important. I didn’t want a lightweight frame. The decor on the head and footboard is beautiful, gives an antique vibe like the bed my grandmother had but no squeaking. We have slept on this for just under a week and there is no sound. We were able to put this together is about twenty minutes. The instructions are clear with numbers for connecting pieces that slid into place easily. This actually feels very sturdy and was easy to put together. My 12 yo daughter helped me carry it up the stairs and put it together. It was her first time touching a screw driver and a good breeze could knock her over. So it really wasn’t difficult at all. We got this for our guest bedroom for when the grandparents come visit now that we have the space. I’m pretty sure this is actually solid wood. I definitely recommend this. Purchased this queen bed frame for a vacation rental and so far we have been very happy with it. It is solid, well made and a great value for the price. It sits low but that’s what I needed due to a window nearby. I bought another frame for 100 less on wayfair and the quality was not great I should have just spent a bit more and gotten a second one of these, would buy again. The dimensions of the bed are inaccurate - the bed is 2" longer than stated in the specifications. We bought this bed to fit along a different wall and had to change our room plan. The frame leaves 2" of extra wiggle room for a standard twin mattress. We did not want to go through the effort of returning the item once it was assembled.
