One thing to note is that the custom fit Songmic trash bags don't fit this model as well as generic non-branded trash bags. If you want the lift handle for the removable trash can to be outside the trash bag/acessible, then using the Songmics trash bag means the lid to the trash will be left ajar. If you choose to cover the lift handle with the Songmics trash bag, then the trash can lid is left just slightly raised. It is good for small spaces and to keep dogs out of the trash. It is not so good for those who like the option to open by hand or don’t want fiddle with making sure the inside cans go in perfectly. It is beautiful and slim lined so it fits perfectly at the end of the counter and can be pushed all the way back because the lid is small and will open against the wall without touching the wall. The trade off is that the only way to open it is with the foot pedal (if that breaks, you can’t open it with your hand—. Really like this trash and recycling can! It fits our space well. The noise when opening and closing is a little louder than expected but it’s not a big issue.
