This set looks exactly like the pictures; GORGEOUS! The red is a cool, rich red and the white is an ivory tone. Each piece is glossy and rich looking. I use all my dinnerware year round; but these will also be perfect for company. I bought two sets. Wayfair customer service was excellent at working out a technical glitch to my advantage. I couldn't be happier with these sets. Later, I might buy a third set and leave int packed up to replace any that might get damaged during use. I ordered three sets in red to replace my old, dark, heavy stoneware. The Godinger Gathering exceeded my expectations! These plates are sturdy, but don't weigh a ton individually, and stand up well enough that I'm not concerned when my kids clear their own plates from the table. The bowls are perfect for cereal and stack well in the cupboard. Salad plates are smaller than what I am used to, but they serve their purpose well. However, they are not perfect whatsoever. Several plates have a slight warp compared to others and the red rims are not evenly shaded. This does not bother me personally, as I like the "aged" appearance. Two of the mugs were broken in shipping, but Wayfair replaced them quickly with another set. All in all, my order was here quickly, and the replacements dishes as well, resulting in a very happy customer who will love using these plates for years to come!. Lauren. Love these! Arrived with no breaks. I looked for the perfect dishes for the past year to replace heavier everyday dishes, something pretty, light, microwaveable, dishwasher safe, and something my husband and I could agree on! Even my 23 year old grandson commented on how nice they are. This set fits the bill. We use the bowls a lot. Things you should know: 1) there is no serve ware available but I think most pieces you cobble together will only enhance the experience. 2) The red and blue around the edges are not solid, more like water colors you can almost see through. I like it but others may put off if you're looking for a solid band like your fine china. The cups and bowls have no bands just flowers 3) there are little bitty spots (3) on the under side of some bowls where they were suspended during the glazing process. I suspect it may eventually discolor dishes from use but hubby says a spot of ceramic paint will seal them. 4) the cups are small but sort of fluted on the top. They are perfect for my arthritic hands but the guys still prefer mugs for their coffee! 5) The flowers are mostly shades of pink, with coral and a touch of blue wisteria all nicely accented with green foliage. Very reminiscent of floral patterns you might see on antique dishes. 6) plates have nice depth unlike some I've used and all stack nicely. 7) wish there were cereal bowls 8) wish set was more than 6 place settings.
