I’ve been having severe back, neck, hip, and shoulder pain for the past year or so due to my pillow top mattress. It just recently got replaced with a new 10 inch memory foam, which seemed to help, but I’d still wake up feeling worse than when I went to bed. I was very excited to try out a gel mattress topper, specifically a Sealy since I’ve been seeing so many commercials from the lately. When it came in the mail I was so excited. I cut open the plastic wrap and unrolled it. The topper was frozen!! It stayed in the frozen position for about an hour. Was legit solid as a rock, but it had sat outside about 12 hours in 20 degree weather, so I understood why. I turned on the heat and left it alone, in about two hours it was fully inflated. My first impression laying on it was oh my god this is firm!! But then you slowly start to fall into the mattress topper as it conforms to your body. It literally gives you so much support I didn’t have to use a pillow because it was supporting my neck while letting my head sink in. I’m so floored by this item - I woke up with minimal pain (Rome wasn’t built in a day) and for the first time in a long time I’m excited to fall into bed again tonight!!. Rebecca Lynn. The mattress-in-a-box invention is genius. It is so easy to transport to your room of choice - no need to worry about narrow staircases or doorways. This mattress came sooner than expected and in great condition. Once the plastic was removed, it instantly expands (make sure you have it where you want it before cutting the plastic film!). I didn't notice a smell but the instructions say to let the mattress air out for 24 to 72 hours before using. The mattress took about 12-15 hours to fully expand to 10". You would never know the mattress was originally rolled up. The springs are fully intact and it feels just like any box-store mattress. The medium is definitely fairly soft but that is more because of the memory foam and because I tend to like really firm mattresses. I would probably get a firm one next time but it is not a deal-breaker. My back so far feels so much better on this mattress than the one previous!
