We added the self-watering kit a year after buying a veg trug. Some reviewers said it was difficult to retrofit the kit (that it didn't fit once the veg trug was assembled), but we didn't have any issue at all. There was plenty of room to drop in the kit. These planters are the perfect size to stand out. My other favorite feature will be the water reservior area....it is just what your plants need so they don't get too much water. I will never buy another set of planters without this. They also stand out and make my front porch look beautiful.
