I was very easy to place on my bed that I did not need any help at all. I love that it has the fitted elastic to help keep it from moving and/or sliding off my mattress. I have literally gotten much better rest since we've had it. It's 10 times better than the one we had on there. I also love the option to wash in my washing machine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market for a new mattress and came across this one. I had recently seen & heard things about the whole "mattress in a box" idea. So I decided to order it. With the claims and description, I was intrigued and hoping that it lived up to what it claimed to offer. The mattress was/is for my master bedroom for myself and my husband. I have severe fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, amongst other things. So I am ALWAYS in pain, ALWAYS. Poor sleep, along with a poor quality mattress (and/or the wrong type of mattress) only makes these issues worse. My husband has scoliosis (curved spine) which is another reason why our choice of mattress is extremely important. When it arrived, even though I knew it was a "mattress in a box", I was still surprised by the size of the box. I even had the thought that they sent the wrong item because I didn't understand how a queen size mattress could fit in a box of its shape and size. But lo and behold, it was indeed the right one. It was rolled tighty, covered in plastic. I appreciated that they included a plastic cutter that resembled some kinds of mail openers. Made it more convenient. Since it was rolled so tight, along with some of the reviews I have seen, I was worried about it being able to unfurl and open up into the appropriate shape and size. Luckily, within a day it was good to go. We have been using this mattress for a little over 3 months now, I believe. We both are pleasantly surprised by not only the quality but how much we like it and have benefitted from it. I get hot very easily and the cooling claim seems to be accurate. I dont get as hot on this mattress. There seems to be more breathability and airflow. The support isnt too firm or too soft, its perfect. It does actually relieve pressure and help support the right areas. I can also attest to it living up to its claim of minimizing my partners movements. I dont feel him moving or rolling over as much as I did with other mattresses. I also like that it has an antimicrobial cover to help prevent odor and bacteria. I feel like since we have been using this mattress, when I wake up I feel more rested, my body doesnt feel as tight, I'm able to fall asleep faster, more comfortable overall. My husband has been having a bit less discomfort with his back as well. So I am so glad that I took a chance on this mattress. What a great memory foam mattress! It was easy to unwrap and extend open. I waited 24hrs to allow full air expansion. It feels great, I slept like a baby, it instantly helped with my lower back issues ( guess I needed a new mattress). If you are a side/stomach sleeper this will feel amazing! This is a medium to soft mattress which is the perfect firmness if you have hip or back pain. Nice amount of curve hugging, without feeling like you are sinking. Box arrived without damage in 3 days and it was just as I expected. I got the king size, so it was a 2 person job. We took it out of the box in the driveway, carried it up the steps, placed it on the existing box spring, and then followed the instructions. There are 2 plastic wraps. The mattress was folded in half, so we unfolded it, and cut off the second plastic wrap. It went from completely flat and too small to over 12" tall and perfect from corner to corner in less than one minute. This hybrid is replacing a less than a year old cool gel style 12" foam only mattress. We noticed an immediate difference from the gel to this hybrid. It feels much softer, more like a pillow top, but still with the edge firmness to be able to put socks and shoes on from the sides/end. There is a smell when unwrapping (not unpleasant), but it went away very quickly and after an hour it is not noticeable. I think this is very normal for the foam mattress styles. After sleeping uncomfortably on a gel mattress (another brand) we are excited to wake up without body aches! This is better than I had hoped, I will update this if it is anything less than 5 stars.. I could not be more delighted and impressed with the Serta Plush Polyester Heated Mattress Pad! What an brilliant idea! I have had many electric blankets over the years and though they can certainly help keep you warm during cold nights you can always feel the lumpy line of wiring that is really not very beneficial for a comfortable night’s rest. To add, if you are anything like us and let our pets curl up with us the risk for wire damage is always present. Some of those electric blankets only had one or two settings. This one has TEN!!! I love that it goes on the mattress like a mattress pad cover under the fitted sheet. The wiring is much smaller, more flexible, and does not feel lumpy. No worries with having any furry friends for a sleep over! The fabric is like velour. It is so very soft. The mattress pad cover fits our queen size mattress perfectly with plenty enough reach to be secure over the sides. It is a bright white and looks pristine on the mattress. It comes with TWO controllers so that means there are dual adjustment capabilities- not just one – again quite a nice design if there are two sleepers with different preferences for warmth. It warms evenly. There are no hot spots. But wait, there’s more! There is a timer that allows you to have it automatically shut off. To add, there are reinforced slots on the underside of the blanket for the power cords of the controllers to be inserted through. The connectors make a solid connection to the power cord and are designed to not pull apart without an intentional effort. So, no worries that the heated mattress pad cover could become disconnected during use. You know what is even better? It is machine washable! The only thing that was odd, and I believe it may be a typo, is that the description states it is 15” thick. It is not even 1 inch thick. So disregard that part of the description. It is a lightweight fabric that may be closer to a quarter inch thick.
