I bought the paintable shutters (which come as a light bluishgray). I did use a primer first then the color next. The shutters were easy to paint the simple design (from my previous ones I had). They did come with the plastic screws, which we never used. I’m not sure why they’re plastic Unless one is using these as an interior design, I don’t know how these would hold up on any kind of siding. We had to buy special anchors and screws since we were placing 4 of these on stone veneer and the others on our siding. I am pleased with the product and they way it gives our house a facelift.. We are sprucing up the yard on one side of our garage. The garage wall and window area were so bare and boring. These shutters were the perfect answer. We love the dark blue color, as it accentuates the turquoise Adirondack chairs that sit beneath the window. The shutters are super light weight. It takes two people to measure and hold the shutters for installation. Two of the plastic screws broke when installing next to the window ( center screws), as this is where the actual window frame sits beneath the stucco. Not a problem. The shutters are so light weight, they really don't need all 6 screws to keep them up on the stucco wall. I cut the cap off of the broken screws and glued them over the screw hole. A very well constructed shutter just as depicted online. Much more substantial than typical vinyl shutters and not as extensive as composite or wood. The size was exactly as ordered and they were exceptionally well protected in the shipping box as one pair per box. We ordered the “Sojourn Blue” which was a bit lighter than appeared on line.
