The drawer has wheels, so it slides in and out very easily, and it’s perfect for storing extra blankets, pillows, clothes, or other things that I don’t want sitting around the room. There is Velcro along the slat area that helps keep everything securely in place, so the slats don’t move around easily when the bed is being used. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference. The bed is beautiful and sturdy. It was a little bit of a pain to put together but got it done in about an hour. My one complaint is it’s pretty low to the ground so I can’t fit my under bed storage and I can’t fit under it to retrieve cats. I’m debating on risers. Because of how the bed is designed they could have drilled holes several inches higher on the headboard and made the legs longer. Just two inches higher would make like easier.
