We have adapted this as an exhaust fan for our greenhouse. Made mounting more difficult, but this is due to the construction of our greenhouse, not the fault of the fan. The instructions were adequate but not great. My boyfriend is a 30yr+ contractor and it still took the 2 of us 2 days to build it by ourselves. We really could have used more hands. I highly recommend doing what we did and taking the time to sort all of the parts before beginning. Not every part was labeled so this would have made for issues had we not staged everything first. The structure itself is fairly flimsy. The roof vent windows are poorly designed to say the least. So is the door latch. We added quite a bit of extra bracing and tie downs and clear caulked all of the panels which helped considerably. We added slide bolts inside the doors to hold them closed while inside, as well as hook and eye latches to hold the doors open outside and a slide bolt on the door without the latch to keep the doors closed outside. We also bolted our planters to the wood base and greenhouse walls, and built a counter that runs the length of the end and is also bolted to the structure and the base. It is NOW quite sturdy, but if you plan to purchase this keep in mind that it will take a fair amount more time and money to make it a sturdy, wind-proof building. Debated on whether to write this review, since I doubt it'll actually be published, but on the off chance that it does get through, wanted to use this as a PSA to always check the content of packages that you order online immediately upon arrival and if there is any discrepancy -- compare the contents to the estimated product weights from the description. To wit -- ordered several pieces from Palram at once (the greenhouse, couple of shelves, the heater and the anchoring kit.) Tracking info, provided by Wayfair showed that my stuff departed the warehouse in three packages -- one containing the greenhouse kit, one containing the heater and a third one with everything else. Three packages arrived at my house, but when I opened them, there was no heater to be found (coincidentally the second-most expensive item in the order.) At first I was confused, since everything was showing up as "delivered." However, when I actually looked at the packages one more time and compared the shipping vs. the actual weights and dimensions of what I got, it quickly became obvious that the heater had never actually left the Wayfair warehouse. There were, in fact, three packages. However, one of them contained not the 12 lb heater, as claimed, but the 5 lb anchoring kit. The remaining two had the greenhouse and remaining accessories (minus the heater). The kicker is that when I alerted Wayfair of the issue (with pictures to support what I had found), I was told to "Wait six days to see if it shows up in the mail." (Spoiler alert -- it didn't.) When I called customer support, I was told "there's no fraud in Wayfair's warehouse" and had to escalate to a supervisor, before the heater was actually shipped out to me. Again, this was not my interpretation of events, but the actual cold, hard facts, as supported by pictures (and yes, I did keep the actual boxes I received, just in case), so I did not appreciate the gaslighting. Why am I bothering with writing all of this, knowing that it likely won't get past the admins on here (and since I got my heater after all)? Because on the off chance that it does get through, I can see how this type of scam/mistake/whatever you want to call it can disproportionately affect older/less tech-savvy customers and want to hopefully save them the aggravation of having to prove that they never received the item(s) they paid for.. The Automatic Vent Opener was designed to automatically control the temperature in most Palram-Canopia greenhouses. As the air inside the greenhouse warms, the vent gradually opens to allow the correct amount of airflow into the greenhouse and closes when the optimal temperature is reached. The vent arm was designed with the use of natural wax that expands to push a piston, which raises the window, as the air gets warmer then contracts as it cools, closing with the use of a spring. The Automatic Vent Opener operates without the use of electricity.

Got the wonderful Mythos 6 x 8 by Palram and just finished the major installation this weekend over four days of 3-4 hour days. Great engineering. Prior to installation I reviewed the instructions, and read a lot of reviews including comments on the installation. Some tips: Purchase a 10 mm socket for a battery operated screwdriver. There are bazillions of screws of that size in this project, and your drill with this bit is too powerful. (And no, your socket set in ‘American’ units won’t do). Occasionally you’ll need a Phillips head bit. Silicone spray makes getting the rubber weather stripping into their channels a breeze. Unpack everything (except the panels), and inventory and organize it. Fiddling around trying to find a specific part will slow your roll and take your energy. I put the nuts/screws in separate plastic cups labelled with a sharpie, sorted the metal pieces by number in my garage/basement, and put all the plastic bits in a shoebox. Lifesaver. Pay attention to the images on the instructions and take your time (you can download the PDF before your greenhouse arrives and commence your study). When you start becoming confused or fatigued, give it a break. The instructions are complete, but very very specific. If it’s not working/fitting, you are doing something wrong (user error). Take a break, and then look at the instructions more carefully, Use your reading glasses; all the secrets are printed there. Be calm and patient. A few installers remarked how they assembled it solo; they need a reward. Two people was optimal, at times we had a third, and set her to assembling the door. Assemble the door on a work bench or table — it’s a big job (made even worse if you decide to reverse the swing like we did — take your time). There are pieces you can do solo (the base up to raising the walls, the door, the gables, the roof vent construction); the rest works better with 2 sets of hands. If you decide to get the louvered panel accessory (highly recommended for air flow) , the instructions assume that you’re deconstructing an already built greenhouse. Study the plans carefully and install it during the greenhouse initial construction (partially a reason my construction took so long). Also, get the automatic opener for the ceiling vent, and don’t bother with the included plastic opener— you’ll likely never be home when the greenhouse needs venting for heat (hint- put it in the fridge so the it’s ready to install when you want it). The other accessories I got are the lover opener (installing today) and both the heavy duty and light shelves. For planning your layout , note that the light shelves cannot be placed in the corners. Only build when it’s still; gusty winds will drive you bananas. Check your weather app and search for two back to back days of calm and mild weather. This came packed well but unfortunately I hadn’t had a chance to put it up. I plugged it in to see how hot it was going get prior to putting in the garage.
