My grand daughter loves her new loft bed. It took me 3 days to put together but it was worth the time and effort. For a seven year old, she loves the space under the bed to play in, it can also be used as a second bed for her cousin when she has a sleepover. Only thing climb bars can cause child to slip, so brought insulation tube from home supply store, cut to measure- perfect. Instructions were easy to follow with every item marked. Before you buy this bed make sure you’re right with the Lord. If you are planning to build this as a couple get a marriage counselor. Be sure to have a case of wine and soothing music that can muffle your foul language. Lay every piece out and count all the screws and hardware. We were missing vital pieces and had to have them shipped. I put each screw, dowel, hardware in separate baggies and labeled them. Be prepared for areas to not be pre drilled especially the ladder. We had to build piece by piece in the garage and carry it to his room to assemble. This bed will have to burn down with the house before I attempt to take it apart and move it. We thought we were ordering a complete bed with headboard. Much to our surprise, the headboard does not come with the bed. We like the bed, my husband was able to assemble mostly on his own in a couple hours. Only thing is I wish it was more sturdy. My boys (5 8) argue at night when someone moves and it shakes the whole bed. This is pretty typical of bunk beds but would be nice if it was sturdy enough not to have this issue.. Leslie. Leaving out the terrible Fedex experience with the bed being delivered I still give this bed 3 stars. The instructions were borderline terrible. Pictures only, no written directions, so it was difficult to tell simple things such as, which side is the finished side There were some points in the directions where you really had to look because it would have you put in a dowel rod but not reference it. It also says to use a screwdriver. I used my impact drill, you definitely don’t want to hand screw some of those screws. It also says use a hammer, I suggest a rubber mallet if possible. The only part to hammer are these plastic dowels and I would think a hammer may snap them. Also some of the pieces cane nicked up. Overall kind of a cheep material. I’ve built many pieces of furniture before and this one was a chore for sure. It was for my daughter as her first big girl bed and overall she was happy so that made it all worth it.
