I absolutely love this bedroom set! It’s sturdy, solid (yes, pine…I know, lol!) wood and there is no noise when hubby and I toss and turn or get upin bed! We did add extra slats because we used a 14.5” mattress with no box spring. I think there were only 5 or 7 slats and we added a few more along with the extra center supports. I was able to assemble quite a bit of the bed myself until I got to the headboard and slats. One slat had two pilot holes vs one center hole to attach a center support so hubby took care of that. (I wanted to make sure that I didn’t crack it by adding a hole.) I ordered this as a 4-pc set consisting of (king) bed, two nightstands and a dresser, which saved a few hundred bucks vs ordering a la carte. You might be able to find it as “Montauk 3 bed” or something similar as the 4-pc is no longer showing. The dresser and nightstands are sturdy and the drawers glide perfectly. A word on ordering Driftwood color it is more yellow-orange as many reviewers mentioned. Although I was hoping for it to be more brown, it’s growing on my hubby and I, plus I thought the gray might be too much with my flooring as I wanted to keep the furniture lighter in color. This was for our lakehouse and I didn’t want white since that will be our daughter’s furniture color and our walls are BM White Dove. We like the look of our new bed, but aren't sure it was worth the hassle. I was looking for a grey wooden headboard and ordered this bed because I got an email saying it was no longer out of stock before I found anything else I liked. The confirmation email said it would be delivered in a few days. One week after placing the order, I got an email saying it would be another 2 months before it would be delivered (so basically it still wasn't back in stock). By the time it finally made its way to San Francisco (shipped from Brazil through Virginia, according to the packing slip), one of the boxes was smashed on one side, which caused the metal clips that connect the side rails to the headboard to be bent, and made for a major pain when putting the bed together and required several other tools to try and straighten the metal before digging into the wood with a razor blade to make it work. We also found that we had to reinforce the tiny wooden slats running from left to right underneath the mattress because that part is made of cheap wood. The color of the wood is slightly less grey than pictured in the website's photo and actually has a slight hint of blue to the grey. arrived in 3 days. 2 boxes. I would agree to assemble in room where it is going to go. Directions were not hard hard to follow. I was surprised due to the size. It is time consuming due to the size. The doors went better than expected. They did need adjusted at the end. I was just very surprised how everything lined up as I started to assemble. I did 2 of these. I do recommend. The doors do take 2 people as directions say. The first one took me about 5 hours as I went slow to make sure. 2nd one I did in 3 1/2 hours. So not hard but time consuming and looks great when done. Purchased two of these to serve as mudroom storage after custom built in and Lowe's standard cabinet options came in at 3k to 4k. We selected these over others based on the solid wood construction. I would say it is worth the additional cost, as the stain finish and veneer are convinving, not great but better than the laminate picture of wood many other options use. Soft close doors are a nice touch. We put cushions on the drawers to soften their close. It is sturdy and the tolerances were spot on, amazing feet in my opinion. Assembly of the first one took 4 hours, the scone one took 3. The trick to the doors is too slide the hinge out as far as permitted before staring door hanging, and use two people. Plan on buying knobs/pulls to suit your style. Those supplied make the unit look frumpy. We spent $16 for pulls per unit, now it looks like a custom piece.. Keith. Leawood, KS. 2016-01-16 18:49:24
