I bought this for my 19 month old daughter, who is a bit short for her height and not yet walking on her own. I walked away from her when she was playing on the floor with her toys and when I came back in the room she was sitting in her chair at the desk and drawing. Though her feet around about 2 inches off the floor when sitting in the chair correctly, it will fit her perfectly by age 2! She loved it immediately. It took my husband an hour to put it together and once he was finished, he showed it to her and she leaned in and gave him a big kiss on his hand - she rarely does this so we know she will bubbling over with excitement. Our 18month old loves this desk. He draws more on the desk and stool then paper under the little clip but we knew that was going to happen.
