I just opened the box for this shower curtain rod and it is solid material. It feels hearty and sturdy and not flimsy like so many of the shower curtains today. The special glue inside comes in really handy as I am not interested in drilling holes into my brand new tile and I would have had no idea what type of glue to purchase that would withstand long term exposure to water and moisture. Having said that, it even includes stickers to hold the end pieces in place after they've been glued down to give them a solid 48 hours to dry.
