The color is dark brown and less red tint than what is pictured. The package came and was busted open on my front porch with planks half way out. We used Mohawk vinyl plank flooring, and chose the shade/color of Elite Sand Cloud Oak. I was amazed at the difference and overall feel it gave the bedroom. The shades and tones make the room feel warmer and cozy, and it feels cleaner too. The flooring is made of quality materials that have a protective wear layer that extends the life of the flooring over time and it’s scratch resistant too. This flooring comes in planks that interlock / snap together, installation is simple. Once you measure the space, and figure out the pattern that works for your space, you are ready to go! The planks have a built in underlayment/ pad that saves time and money! The planks are waterproof so you don’t have to worry about kids spilling stuff or pets having accidents. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are so happy we got these! Tiles look great and feel nice even under bare feet. The color is neutral but light enough to brighten up any room. Because it is not a solid color but rather a melange of different grays, it will not show stains or pet hair too much (we have toddlers, dogs and cats). I ran our robot vacuum over several tiles and it cleans them with no issues (important!). Comes well packed. Each tile is 4 sq.ft., so you can get as many as needed for any area - there will be almost no waste (ecologically responsible). Our contractor said that installation will be a breeze; he thinks even a novice can do it. While we are waiting for him to fit us into his schedule, I am debating whether to go with solid color (it is meant for play room) or get another shade and go with checkerboard pattern. Might go with darker gray (for subtle look) or with bright red (for bold contrast). So one can get quite creative. All in all - very impressed with this product. Installation was easy. The “thread pattern” was not straight with the side cuts. So if you’re not test fitting every piece you end using with areas where colors kind of bunch together and give an odd look. Also had to check every tile, because of the off angle thread pattern, some areas on the side had the thread half way cut through, then the other half fell out and left a bare open gap. Was able to use those tiles as the exterior pieces and cut out the open gap. But still a frustrating. Other than that, they installed easy, look nice, are easy to remove and replace or clean, while still staying solid and secure on floor. I installed with the flex lok pads.. Nathan.
