Well, the bed is gorgeous. It smells great, like pine. It's solid and sturdy and easy to put together. But I'm confused. I have a normal full size (52/53-ish inches) mattress and box spring. This bed is a normal full size bed frame. I put it together correctly. But I have inches of space left where you can see the slats: The box spring/mattress don't fit snugly into the frame. It doesn't look nice. I'm contemplating returning this, but I'm not sure what I can do after I've already set it up. I think my mattress might run on the small side of a "full variation," as I now understand that mattress can slightly vary by size. Although we love the design, we were pretty bummed about 2 key things. The first is that on one side of the headboard the craftsmen missed the line by just a little bit & I noticed it immediately after putting the bed together. If you look at my photographs you can see why it is so very obvious. But due to the returns policy, returning it would be a nightmare. The 2nd issue is that the middle leg that holds the bed up can be seen underneath the bed when you walk into our room - and it's not stained the same color as the bed itself - it's raw wood, so now we have to take the time to dye it.
