A few nicks around the corner of the shelf boards upon opening but nothing terrible. Super easy to assemble, did in less than 30 mins. Lamp shade is a bit fragile, basically a paperlike material with a glossy inside. It folds open and has metal notches that attach to a square metal bar - felt like I was going to rip through the shade when doing this. I changed my review of 3 to 4 stars once I found it it has 3 different light settings! The bulb light changes upon each pull. Very cool to play with when the daylight changes throughout the day!.
