These are gorgeous! I've always simply used a knife and a regular cooking-type spatula for cutting cake or pie or quiche. I actually make quiche a lot too, so I've often thought I should get one of these cake servers utensils. It's just one kitchen utensil that for some reason, I never got around to getting until now. I'm so glad I waited because this one is a gorgeous set. I think some cake servers just come with the one spatula-type tool, but I love that this came as a pair and the knife is perfect and then I can use it to leverage picking up a slice. It is very shiny and has some serious weight to it - so it feels expensive. I also like that it has a modern and clean look with fairly straight lines and no weird fancy decorative carvings like a lot of the old-fashioned ones I think of when I envision a cake cutting tool.
