The bed is a great way to add function and style to any room. It features an exciting brushed texture and a glaze that gives it a high-end weathered appearance. 6-step finish and is top-coated with a durable wax with a subtle sheen. The finish works well with the brushed nickel hardware and while transitional, can certainly work as a contemporary or coastal finish.
Everything came as expected, and the assembly was easy enough (following the instructions is key!) The booklet was a little vague on how to set up for steps to be assembled on the right as opposed to the left, but using common sense, we were able to figure that out. It definitely was a lot easier to have two people to assemble, and we got it together in about an hour. There were two "damaged" areas to the bed: 1 dowel was broken off inside one of the match-up slots to use as extra support for the screws (if there was no screw, we would have been screwed! Ha!), and there was also a staple in the end of a slat that was to slide into another part, so it had to be removed carefully not to cause damage to the piece so it would still fit in nicely. Overall, the bed seems very sturdy and I hope it holds up. One adult sized teen will sleep on the bottom bunk (which with a single 12 inch mattress is perfect for her to sit up without hitting her head on the upper bed) and a child to sleep on the top bunk (a single 6 inch mattress fit perfectly and left no gap between the frame and the safety bars.) The storage spaces are great, though I wish the storage under the bottom bed had longer drawers for even more storage capacity.) Overall, a good purchase for the money and will update my review if anything changes in its holding up over the course of a few years.. Yr. South Carolina. Mon May 19 2025
