I bought one roll of the Off-White to cover the area under my kitchen cabinets, which was more than plenty. The color is a nice clean looking white (mostly - see further comment below) and the grout lines are two shades of gray - one is a light gray and the other is a blue-gray. The white areas have a nice pearly, iridescent look. The paper feels substantial and thick. I used wallpaper paste smoothed pretty liberally on the wall with a paint brush and used a smoothing tool to remove any air bubbles after getting each section hung up. This worked very well. I followed the directions in choosing my starting point and I believe doing that prevented any weird looking spots where each section matched up. I was concerned that butting the seams (as the manufacturer recommends) instead of overlapping them might render places where the grout lines didn’t match up, but that didn’t happen at all. I had to trim some tricky areas (around the window and outlets) and the paper held up fine in all that wrestling - no rips or tearing. Does it look like real tile? Absolutely not, but I wasn’t expecting it to fool anyone. After painting my cabinets and epoxying my countertops, I was so stinking tired that I just couldn’t cope with the thought of another project as involved as tiling my backsplash, so this paper was an inexpensive fix until I can work up the necessary fortitude to tackle that job at some future point. So the pros of this paper are great: inexpensive, easy to hang, and looks nice. However, and this is why I gave this product 3 stars, there are sections of the paper that have a strange sheen that cannot be wiped off or removed. See the close up pictures. At first, I thought I had missed some adhesive. Wipe, wipe, wipe. Nope, still there. It’s not everywhere, just here and there, too random to be a purposeful thing. And these are absolutely not imperfections on the wall itself showing through. The wall was perfectly clean and smooth prior to hanging the paper. This is a manufacturing uh-oh that should’ve been caught by quality control. If I was using this for anyone else’s home, this wouldn’t be acceptable. You can see it from eight feet away if you know where to look. But since it’s my kitchen and it would require holding me at gun point to pull it all off and start over, it’s staying right where it is. I don’t believe I read any other reviews where this was mentioned, so maybe I was just unlucky. I just wanted to mention it so that others will know to watch for it.. Janell.
