I absolutely love this bedroom set! It’s sturdy, solid (yes, pine…I know, lol!) wood and there is no noise when hubby and I toss and turn or get upin bed! We did add extra slats because we used a 14.5” mattress with no box spring. I think there were only 5 or 7 slats and we added a few more along with the extra center supports. I was able to assemble quite a bit of the bed myself until I got to the headboard and slats. One slat had two pilot holes vs one center hole to attach a center support so hubby took care of that. (I wanted to make sure that I didn’t crack it by adding a hole.) I ordered this as a 4-pc set consisting of (king) bed, two nightstands and a dresser, which saved a few hundred bucks vs ordering a la carte. You might be able to find it as “Montauk 3 bed” or something similar as the 4-pc is no longer showing. The dresser and nightstands are sturdy and the drawers glide perfectly. A word on ordering Driftwood color it is more yellow-orange as many reviewers mentioned. Although I was hoping for it to be more brown, it’s growing on my hubby and I, plus I thought the gray might be too much with my flooring as I wanted to keep the furniture lighter in color. This was for our lakehouse and I didn’t want white since that will be our daughter’s furniture color and our walls are BM White Dove. We purchased this for our toddler’s bedroom. We were looking for something sturdy, that could grow with him that is made from SOLID WOOD ... after trolling the internet and several sites, this dresser won and we are thankful to have picked it. It was delivered in two shipments and was heavy to lift into the bedroom. We chose to put it together ourselves. It took somewhere around 5-6 hours to put together. The directions were in the format of pictures only but basically intuitive. I rated it a 5 because, although time consuming to assemble, the color, dimensions, material and aesthetic look were perfect for our needs. I am including pics so you can get a feel for look, wood thickness and finished product. One note about assembly that the manufacturer may or may not agree with ... in the tips/how-to section they recommend not using a drill. I would start many screws with a manual screwdriver, but if I didn’t drive them in with the drill my hands would be killing me. I set the devil to the slowest speed possible and went very slowly so as to not strip the screws or crack the wood. We are planning on lining the drawers since the base of the drawers is just plywood. They are 15” deep and 24” wide in case you want to purchase any kind of lining.. Debra. The reviews are correct in that it takes a while to put this thing together. But who cares? Get yourself a ratcheting screwdriver, put on some music, put a few cold ones on ice, and take your time. Slow and steady wins the race. It took me about 3 1/2 hours to put this together, and I loved the end result when it was done. No particle board garbage here. Even the back was real wood. Definitely better quality than what you'll get at furniture stores for the same price. I included a picture of the before and also the after. If you're hesitating, STOP! I'll do pros first: This dresser is made out of a really nice quality wood and the cherry color is really gorgeous especially if you can tuck it somewhere near a window where the light will hit it. Assembly was fairly simple though it was a bit time consuming - it took two people about 3 and half hours to put together completely. Also, for how nice this looks - you really can't beat the price. I also was surprised by how much I liked the knobs - a little mid century and very cute. Now, cons: Shipping was an absolute travesty. The dresser was delivered in a completely broken box and the pieces were jumbled all over the place (see photos). I had to bring it up piece by piece to my apartment because the box wasn't salvageable. It was very hastily propped up against the wall of my lobby and a lot of the pieces could have easy been broken. The box was only held together with what looked like a single layer of packing tape and had no other reinforcements. A few pieces look like they have a few nicks and small scratches as a result, but nothing too bothersome. Additionally, the dresser drawers don't pull in and out as smoothly as they could (fully aware this could be an assembly issue as it seems others have had similar problems). This doesn't really bother me, but it is a little troubling to have to jimmy the drawers a tiny bit to get them to completely open. The back of the dresser is also not solid wood which doesn't really bother me because I have it against a wall anyway, but worth knowing ahead of time. Overall, this is a really nice piece and looks great in my bedroom. I would have definitely given a higher rating if shipping had been better. I would recommend buying.. Jessica.
