[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I will start by saying this fountain is very unique and fits the aesthetic of my yard. I like the overall height and 5 alternating spouts that water can flow from. The motor is quiet and the water sounds relaxing. It was easy to set up and well packaged. The pump comes with a 3-pronged (grounded) cord that reaches about 62” once assembled. Unless you plan to display your fountain close to a plug, you will need an outdoor extension cord. The pump also comes with suction cups on the bottom so you can secure it to the base of the fountain bucket but as you place the top into the base, you really can’t put your hand in to secure the cups to the base.
When I ran the fountain I noticed that the water from the top spigot didn’t flow into the first watering can but rather on top of the spout and down into the next can. I made sure all pieces were secured but the water still would not go into the top can. Because each watering can is welded to the pipes, you can not manually bend or adjust them. I was getting frustrated trying to tilt the base to adjust the flow and even moved locations thinking my patio wasn’t level enough. Ultimately what fixed the issue was having the motor adjusted to max speed. That seemed to allow the water to make it over the rim of the first can.
When it is running, I found that not all the drips stay within the diameter of the base. If you have it outside it shouldn’t be a problem, just don’t place it near something that you don’t want to get wet.
While the bottom base has a wire mesh piece over the hole to prevent debris from entering into the main water reservoir, the watering cans do not have mesh so debris could enter and settle into the cans.
I have never owned a fountain before and will share a few recommendations from the manufacturer to help your new purchase run smoothly and last longer. They recommend that you use distilled water in the base to prevent mineral buildup. It is also important to make sure your unit doesn’t run low on water. During the summer months, water will evaporate (as the water is held and covered in a metal base) and running the pump without enough water can burn out the motor. It is also recommended that you change the water every month and use their fountain formula to reduce algae and mineral buildup. They also recommend using an acrylic spray sealer to prevent the finish from peeling and fading from exposure to the elements. It does arrive coated but they suggest another coat every 6-12 months.
Overall I think it’s a nice fountain but it took me a while to get the water to flow smoothly through the unit.. Autumnlake. Grand Blanc, MI. 2021-11-03 10:21:49
