This mantel is absolutely gorgeous. The delivery was fast. There is a bracket in the back with screws that you can use for attachments. If you decide to take it off it gives you a hollow space, which i used to put it on my previous smaller mantel. It’s smoth with defined detailes. We chose this for the color as it was the best match to what we wanted to do with the stone we are placing. Plus it states it can take the heat which is a great bonus. Although hanging at the correct distances away from the heat it gives an added security it won't get overly hot. The mantle has striations/lines within and not a uniform color which I really like it (see photo of mantle side) and it adds to the overall look. Great quality, easy to hang and light weight while looking substantial. I have enclosed a photo of the stone we are using although we have not started that project yet. This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket. Corbels will increase the total height of the beam to 13". The corbels have been pre-drilled and include screws. You will need to attach the corbels to the beam upon receipt. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.

It’s gorgeous! And heavy! This product came well packaged and contained all hardware required to get it mounted. We are using this in a new build so I will update pics after installation. As you can see from these photos it’s a beautiful, neutral finish and the corbels are smooth and a perfect size match. The detailing is excellent, and although there was a bit of wood putty on a natural ding, it’s been so carefully applied and textured in it looks totally natural. The mantel is beautiful and the quality is good. But the installation is challenging for our fireplace. We have to use the 6 inches length screws to secure the base wood before hanging it up.
