We then use cedar to build a new back and bottom, using the tongue and groove method. If you plan to use the wine barrels for planting, then drainage holes are needed, so excess water may drain out of the containers without drowning and killing the plants. Due to the reclaimed material, color and appearance may vary. Size may vary slightly due to the reclaimed material, and because these are handmade.
