Apart from one reservation, I had fun putting this lean-to together. The instructions are very well composed. Probably the bestI've ever run into in my 64 years). My only complaint would be that the header (arguably the most important piece in the kit) came quite bent. Even without this problem, in terms of engineering, something which will span 5 feet or so over the doors and support at least 3 rafters, not to mention the pitch of the roof is not the best for snow to nicely fall off and thus relieve the header, (it is after all a 2x4 on its side) we're asking for mid-winter trouble. I did all I could do to straighten the header out, I thought I had it pretty close, plus I only had so much time allotted to this project, so I went ahead. Big mistake, turns out. The header started to bend again. Ultimately, I ended up popping a 4x4 post inside the shed directly behind where the doors meet. It won't kill me to modify my path around this post all the time, but, after all, this was not in the plan.. Francois. Saratoga Springs, NY. 2014-10-16 11:55:51
