A great option for anybody who is handy. I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is challenged by basic carpentry skills. I made several changes (see pictures): - Built a base to raise it above the ground level ... pea gravel in my case - Caulked all areas where two panels met to keep out water - Used deck screws in place of screws provided to cope with Pacific Northwest weather - Threw away the hardware that came with the shed and installed higher quality - Put in bolts top and bottom of the left door to keep it closed - Treated all surfaces before assembly with a clear wood preservative - Moved all of the shelves to the right side to give more room for long-handled tools - Added hardware for hanging tools ... this required a horizontal 1 X 4 since walls are thin I'm happy with this purchase because it allowed me to build the shed without having to plan, buy and manufacture the individual wood panels. I love this garden shed. It assembled in about 4.5 hours with two people. You have to pay close attention to where the predrilled holes are when putting it together as the instructions are good, but we didn’t notice the predrilled holes on the back and assembled it to the side upside down. An easy fix once we noticed it, but it took time and we had to drill new holes to screw in to the side because taking out the screws loosened them. Once assembled I chose to only put in the shelves on the right side so I could have tall shovels on the left. Apart from one reservation, I had fun putting this lean-to together. The instructions are very well composed. Probably the bestI've ever run into in my 64 years). My only complaint would be that the header (arguably the most important piece in the kit) came quite bent. Even without this problem, in terms of engineering, something which will span 5 feet or so over the doors and support at least 3 rafters, not to mention the pitch of the roof is not the best for snow to nicely fall off and thus relieve the header, (it is after all a 2x4 on its side) we're asking for mid-winter trouble. I did all I could do to straighten the header out, I thought I had it pretty close, plus I only had so much time allotted to this project, so I went ahead. Big mistake, turns out. The header started to bend again. Ultimately, I ended up popping a 4x4 post inside the shed directly behind where the doors meet. Ordering the shed was easy, as always with Wayfair. Shipping the package and getting it on my property was not. It took a month to the day to receive the shed, following at least 6 calls to Wayfair. It went through a 3rd party shipper, so I understand when there’s more parties involved, more can go awry. Once that snafu was ironed out, the delivery guys were great! I was home when they arrived and they put the 800lb package exactly where is asked with a smile on their face. Everything looks intact. Wayfair could iron out the delivery process when using a 3rd party shipper with larger packages. I’ll let you know how the shed looks when I build it next weekend.. Craig. We call this our “pretty shed”. It took 3 people to assemble and I recommend you stain and seal it pretty quickly as the pine wood absorbs water and spots if not sealed. I also recommend you use a power nailer since the siding shingles are fairly thin and when we tried to use a hammer they started to split. We didn’t seal the roof shingles and are noticing the shingles are shrinking. Had it up for 18 months now - no leaks so far. We love it and hope it stands the test of time -). Michele.
