We love this. It is compact and fits nicely on the counter. We add rice and water to the cooker first thing in the morning, as we brew our coffee. It takes less than 5 minutes to add the rice and water. We turn it on and have perfect rice an hour later. We leave it in warming mode, so that the rice stays warm and fresh all day. We scoop out the rice and add it to our plates at lunch and dinner time. I wash the ceramic insert each night, so that we can start again the next day. Simple. Only I drink coffee at my house so I don't need a coffeemaker large enough to make 8-12 cups of coffee. I was using a Keurig and although it's convenient, the coffee isn't as tasty as it should be (I think the water doesn't get hot enough) and I hated throwing the plastic pods in a landfill. This Zutto coffeemaker came highly rated by Wirecutter so I thought I'd give it a try. I brew the full 5 cup carafe which equals 2.5 mugs of coffee. The brew is hot and takes about 5 minutes to complete. The footprint of this unit is small which is great since I have limited counter space. It uses #2 cone filters.
