This Crock Pot was safely and carefully stored indoors on pantry shelf, and never mishandled; always hand washed. Used less than 6 times/ year and it was about 3 or 4 years old. Yet, it developed a hairline fracture, nearly invisible, in the stoneware, and leaked liquid contents all over our kitchen island and laminate floor. Replacement stoneware is not available on this site. So I have a lightly used, but now useless, pot.

This Crock Pot is fantastic! I constantly take it back and forth to work and other events. I admit I don't treat it as carefully as I should - it ends up sliding around in my car, getting banged up

I was originally looking for something bigger. It was hard to tell by the picture and quart number just how large it was. I'm happy with it, but still might need a large one for feeding bigger crowds.

I like the drainage slots that let steam drain down and keeps lid from rattling. I wish I could find a reasonable meat rack

I use these slow cookers in a commercial restaurant for a number of uses. They are great, simple tools and I particularly like the fact that I can get replacement parts for them - like lids and ceramic inserts which can break in a high-volume professional setting.

This 4 quart cooker does a wonderful job on foods from soups and chili to an entire chicken or tri-tip. The ceramic bowl is notched at the rim to vent, so it doesn't sputter liquids while cooking, and the clear top lets you keep track of the progress. The bowl size is convenient to wash in a normal sink after use, and the bowl is completely glazed making cleaning easier. An excellent cooking appliance.

although i used this many times over the last 4 years usually for 4 hour cooks; during the last 2 or 3 times of 10 hour cooks on low with plenty of liquid, i had pretty heavy burn spots only on one side that required some pretty heavy soaking (2 days) and chipping to get the burn parts out. then the flavors were off. Hence the decision to tear into it to see why or fix it. i could not. my debate is if i should try another one. my other smaller crockpot never has done this but i rarely go 8 to 10 hours. it is probably 10 years old.
