This type of thermometer is the BEST type. Just wonderfully old school. My Grandmother had one just like it.

This item is not dishwasher safe, it says so in the description but it literally stopped working after 2 uses.

These are great to have around, no guess work, no math trying to figure out how long your meat will cook.

I love these old school thermometers. No batteries, no fancy, just works.

I absolutely love this thermometer. I love the little red gauge finder arrow on the right hand side of the picture because I can set it to the temperature that I want my steak to be done at. I don’t have to try to focus on the numbers, just on that red arrow. I love that. I can put it in the oven and not have to worry about it.

I love the size of this and the fact that it’s really easy to read but that’s about it. This thermometer was not accurate. I have a smaller, reliable thermometer that I’ve used for a few years that I compared temps to with this one and it was so far off. Do not recommend.

Using a Meat thermometer takes the guesswork out of cooking. It helps you be assured the meat you are serving is not only cooked to a temperature which keeps people who eat it from getting sick, but it also assures that you have a juicy delicious entree to serve. This lightweight stainless steel thermometer measures 4 ¾ inches. It is oven safe, grill safe, and dishwasher safe (however I prefer to clean mine with hot soapy dishwater). The thermometer is made to be placed in the meat as it cooks the dial is large enough to read through the oven door window or you can open the oven door to read it. It is best to insert the thermometer into the meat 2 inches if possible, and it needs about 3 minutes to adjust to the heat to be correctly read. My first time using this thermometer I measured the temperature of broiled ground chicken burgers. I did not get an accurate reading. Therefore, I boiled a cup of water and tested the thermometer to see if it was working and it read correctly then and has every time since. There is an adjustable red arrow on the right-hand side to set for the type of meat you are cooking and your preferred doneness. The temperature range is 120-220 Fahrenheit. The thermometer comes with a cooking chart card so you can know if the type of meat you are cooking is ready for eating. The chart has “USDA done” (which is the safe recommended minimum internal temperature), “well done”, “medium well”, “medium”, and “medium rare” for beef, lamb, pork, veal, fish, poultry, and ground meat. The dial also has some of this information printed on it. In addition to meat I’ve used this thermometer on frozen meals (like pastys) to make sure they are completely and safely heated through and ready to be eaten. True it is “old-school” and takes a few minutes to register the temp, but it doesn’t need batteries and is always ready to be used.
