These are lovely knives. Ive had them for about a year now and they are just as sharp as the first day I got them.

I ordered the statement 14 piece, self sharpening knife set and they sent me the modernist knife set

NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. Completely misleading. Really hard lesson learned - don't ever buy stuff you don't use very often when there is only a 30 day return window!! You're screwed by the time you actually use them. The steak knives are less than impressive for cutting steak and the handles faded in the first washing.... but it wasn't until I used the two large knives for the first time that I got the rust. I have used these 2 knives precisely twice. This is is what they look like coming out of the dishwasher this morning. Frustrated and angry doesn't come close. These were NOT cheap! I included a shot that shows what the handles look like compared to a smaller knife I haven't used yet. Twice. I used these twice. Washed in the dishwasher on the highest / 3rd rack specifically for silverware and standing with the blade down - not horizontally (so the water did not sit on top of the blade). You can clearly see there is rust on both sides. Unbelievable.

Great set. Not to big and bulky like some reviews said. Very well made block for the knife set. Goes good with my meat cutting board. Besides Henckels is my favorite knife’s by far. So far no staining on the blades from hand washing. …

*update* These knives require ridiculous care. If you leave water on them after washing, they begin to rust almost immediately. Very disappointed. *first review* Amazing set! Wish the block was slightly shorter, but the quality for price can’t be beat.

I just love them and will take very good care of them and go great with my kitchen thank you
