Glacier Rocks Basalt Hexagon Stone (Set of 4)

I've been curious about using whiskey stones in the past, so I thought I would give these a try with some of my sipping bourbon. The stones are a good size, and they came nicely packaged in a box (good for a gift), along with a storage bag with instructions. I chilled them in the freezer for over 24 hours before trying them with some bourbon. I didn't find that they made the bourbon noticeably cooler. I suspected that may have to do with the small amount I poured and the current hot temps, so I also tried two stones with just a short pour of water. The water did cool down some after sitting with the stones. I would not call the resulting liquid cold though, so if you want a truly chilled drink, shaking the whiskey with ice first and then pouring over the stones might be more effective and still prevent too much dilution. Using the full set of four stones in a larger glass might also allow for smaller pours to make more surface contact and experience more effective chilling.

Very nice set of drink stones. Comes in a nice box with a storage bag. They are substantial, but not so weighty that I am concerned about them breaking a glass. Would make a very nice gift. This item was provided to me for free in order to write this review. Opinions expressed are my own.

The rock stones have worked very well keeping my water cold with no condensation. They froze fast and have been in my cup since 8 this morning so it’s a good purchase. They came with a small bag to store them in as well.

These cool off the whiskey without watering down your drink. I really like the concept of these, but do wish they cooled down the whiskey a bit more than they do. Just put the bag of them in the freezer, take them out as needed and drop them in a glass. Definitely not a replacement for ice cubes, but probably about 65% cooling factor compared to ice. (the dark color of the stones make the bourbon look much darker than it is in the photo)

Keeping a nice glass of whiskey or a good cocktail in the summer nice and cold without adding ice. I never heard of basalt rocks used as ice cubes but they sure do the trick. The little bag that comes with it is great to pop them in the freezer and have them ready for use.

These are super handy! I appreciate they came with a bag so they can be kept in the freezer. They are perfect for drinks without watering them down. They are rather heavy, so don’t tip your glass too far or you might chip a tooth.

These are great! I’ve been looking for something like this. I love that they’re natural rock because I didn’t like the idea of throwing plastic ones in my drinks. They get cold and hold the cold well!
