- This fan comes with a 4-inch downrod but a longer one can be used. You will need a downrod with a 3/4-inch (fits the interior of the ceiling fan yoke) or a 1-inch (fits the exterior of the ceiling fan yoke) diameter. It does not matter if the downrod is threaded or non-threaded so long as there is a hole for the pin and clip. Please keep the pin and clip from the downrod provided with the ceiling fan; you will use this to secure the new downrod. Any size downrod can be substituted but for the best airflow, please allow at least 7-9 feet between the ceiling fan blades and the floor. To install the downrod, please remove the half-ball mount from our downrod and install it onto the new downrod. Next, place the downrod either internally or externally over the ceiling fan yoke. To secure the downrod, place the pin and clip from our downrod in the hole at the bottom of the downrod. Also, please be advised that HKC-US does not supply additional downloads than the included rod(s) in the packaging. If you would like a longer downrod, you are welcome to purchase a universal downrod from your local or online hardware retailer in the same finish.
