Gorgeous, sturdy, and very solidly made! The diffuser piece in the shade is critical for keeping light out of eyes below.

We are very happy with the lamp. We have no overhead lighting in our living room, and this fills that gap while also looking great (better than most overhead lighting, to be honest). The dimming feature is also nice so we can adjust the lighting according to the time of day and what we're doing (watching a movie vs. entertaining, for example). The base is SUPER heavy, so it did require two people to put together, but other than the weight, it was easy to assemble.
