I love the look and it is well made for the most part. However, be aware that if placing on rather plush carpet it will tip over. I had to wedge cardboard underneath to prevent it from falling over. Overall pleased with this lamp, as it looks very nice and seems relatively sturdy so far. Assembly was simple, but I feel as though the quality of the fastening pieces, while definitely solid, is not top notch. The primary issue preventing this lamp from being 5 stars is that the adjustability is less than desirable. For instance, you can't rotate the arms left to right on the main pole, so the arms are fixed in position relative to one another (each is equidistant from one another or about 120 degrees apart if you were to look from above). Additionally, while you can rotate the arms up and down freely, it doesn't make sense to rotate them all the way over to the other side because the lamp shades themselves can't rotate. In other words, if you were to swing the arm up and over to the other side, the lamp shade would be in a reverse position with the shorter lip of the shade facing outwards, which isn't as aesthetically pleasing nor as functional since the bulb is more likely to be exposed. Regardless, I really am pleased overall and am OK living with the limited adjustability. It looks nice in my living room and will serve just fine whether to light the whole area or as a reading lamp - it has 3 settings: one lamp on (the second highest lamp for some reason - wish it was the lowest one), two lamps on (the lowest and highest lamps), and all lamps on..
