Bartie Plug-in Pump

Bought this to replace an aquasurge 4000 which died after 20 years. It arrived earlier then the estimated date which was good. Followed instructions which are straightforward. Pump was missing one washer which is described in the instructions but wasn’t included with the pump, luckily I had a spare (See white washer in photo). My 1st attempt I plugged it in and nothing happened. Had to disconnect piping and pull the pump up. Found it in two pieces in the bag! The motor housing side had separated from the impeller side which was a pain. Be sure you have the pump tightly closed when installing. Pump is slightly smaller then the Aquasurge pump, which I found is now too expensive. Hopefully this one will stand up to its good reviews, time will tell.wheninstallinpain. pieces.

I am extremely impressed with the craftsmanship of this pump. It is working out perfectly for my pond which also has a waterfall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to get this pump going this spring as soon as the weather warmed up. My husband and son prepared an area last fall for a water feature off a new patio they built. This pump would work perfectly for that purpose but it's missing a hose adapter so installation has had to wait. As for the pump itself, it is a nice quality pump. Although much of the exterior is plastic, the motor is all metal and the impeller is solid. Between the pre-filter cage and/or the mesh bag that it comes with, there shouldn't be any debris big enough to cause any issues. The only potential issue is if water is allowed to freeze inside the pump. I don't think this will be an issue as we plan to remove the pump in winter months. The 20 foot cord is long enough to control the unit without the need for additional extension cords. I plan on plugging it in to an outdoor smart plug to control from my phone. Hopefully I can get the hose adapter soon.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Alpine Corporation 5600 GPH Vortex Energy-Saving Pump replaces an older an less efficient one in my water feature. What I like best is that the pump also has a vortex impeller with a large pre-filter, and can be dissembled without tools, as my wife prefers it that way, indeed.
