Bought this for my daughters wedding and it added just the right ambiance to the altar

Quality wood and well made. I painted mine white to match my white picket fence and it was perfect.

I'm looking forward to seeing this in summer, covered in Major wheeler honeysuckle and surrounded by prairie roses and lavender. And after we stain the fence and raise the arbor height. Very nice looking but needs to be 6" taller. There is barely 6 feet of clearance under the arch so we'll have to add blocks to the bottom to boost it tall enough to go over our path. However the style and price are both very good and I'm enjoying seeing the profile in winter. As other reviews mentioned, assembly was quite tricky even with two handy adults, largely because all the side trellis criss cross pieces are only held in place by tension and notches. They don't fit together in the sides easily, it's quite tight. So you're trying to keep all of them in place and slotted into one side, slot into the other post, and desperately get the bolts screwed in enough to hold it together so you can tweak them before tightening the bolts. I'm lucky my wife is so patient.

Been wanting to add this to my yard for years. Do not know why I waited for so long. Made up for it and bought two(one for courtyard and one for backyard). Beautiful pieces. Agree that instructions leave a lot to be desired, but good sturdy material.

Sturdy and attractive. It goes well with the cedar fence my husband and son built. Arrived quickly too.

Here is how the forest service describes the wood this arbor is made from, "The wood of eastern hemlock is moderately light in weight, moderately hard, coarse grained, uneven in texture, and inclined to splinter when machined. Although moderately low in bending strength and shock resistance, eastern hemlock can be used in construction for light framing, sheathing, subflooring, and roofing. It is much used in the manufacture of boxes, crates, pallets, and as paper pulp for newsprint and other low quality papers." This soft wood is not hardy and does not weather well. Knowing this, I began by sanding the pieces of the arbor before putting on a better protective coating. I found a number of spots that had been filled with white filler putty (see photo).

This is a very nice arch. We purchased it for our wedding in April. It was easy to assemble. I used linseed oil as suggested in other reviews to bring out the color a bit more. The color in the pictures is how it came. I put one coat of sealer on it, let it dry and sanded it and then put one more coat of sealer on it to protect it outside. Today, it still looks the same and this spring it will be in our back yard and we will have flowers growing over it! We were happy with the price, the assembly and the over all product.

Love it and the color! Was pretty easy to put together by myself until it was time to stake it in the ground. Some of the illustrations in the instructions are slightly off, but you hardly need them. Can't speak for the longevity of it yet, but I plan to keep applying wood sealer for added protection. Definitely a charming and affordable arbor to spruce up any space.

We are happy with this trellis and it matches our fence very well. The only hitch is that it is the same height as our fence (6') if we installed it at ground level. So we lifted it about a foot and secured it onto the fence posts to give it some clearance. You can see on the pic it's not resting on the ground. At some point we'll secure underneath and make sure it has enough strength to hold vining plants.

Sturdy and easy to put together. Before we were able to secure this to the fence, this blew over in a wind storm that took huge branches off trees and it was intact the next day. I've been able to weave my grape vine in it nicely.
