beautiful bench-does not diisappoint- very unique

The picture doesn't do the bench justice, as it's gorgeous in person. The wood is solid and the detailed work is elegant. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Beautiful details

I waited two years to order this, since it is a very expensive bench & I had to save up for it -My first problem was that it had to be assembled, legs were not attached. Also, the color is more of a mahogany than a rubbed pine, much darker than I expected. One of the arms has a very uneven staining pattern (see pic) looks like it was damaged. Most upsetting of all, was the design on the back of the bench where the circular carving is, someone added two "X"s in wood on either side of it - It looks HORRIBLE. The carving in the center is no longer the focal point with these added "X"s and makes the bench look cheap and ungraceful. For the amount this bench costs ($1700 plus shipping before discount) the bench should have matched the picture Toscano used. I feel I did not get what I ordered, and now that is it together, it will be too complicated to send back (was sent on a pallet) The bench is solidly made and I would have been so happy with it IF the design on the back matched the picture Toscano used for it's catalog.
