Great Skye II Swing Set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this for about 1 month and everyday my kiddos (aged 3, 5, and 6) first words out of their mouths have been a request to go play on it until breakfast is ready. Now that it’s a little cold in the mornings the same is true in the evening when they get home from school. It is also apparent that Gorilla works hard on sourcing high quality close grain smooth cedar. The quality between this cedar and the cheap playhouse I picked up at a box store is very apparent. The only complaint is the same as most people which is that this is a project and a half to put together…plan several full days or just pay for installation.

The instructions to put the 7 tube slide was confusing and I read aircraft blueprints daily. Just a suggestion but if you put arrows on the sides of each piece that lined up I believe it would make the setup easier."

After assembling the playset we are both in agreement that the quality of the design and materials were better than we expected. While the assembly instructions are clear, it would have been helpful to know that depending on the (build) step, wood and fasteners might come out of two different boxes. (the boxes contain groupings of the different stages of the playset). If you have the space to lay out all of the materials based on each step that would be very helpful. Otherwise if one person can assemble and the other pull the materials for the next step it will shorten the time to build. The building process itself was easy for anyone with a basic working knowledge of tools.

Just finished putting everything together but the roof, I want to seal that before installation, and we couldn't be happier so far. As some other reviews have pointed out the instructions could be clearer but they really aren't that bad, the wood is grouped in the boxes in a mostly logical way, all the roof parts are generally in two boxes for example. As far as the inventory list it's not as bad as some have made it out to be. The wood is grouped by size in a ascending order by length. So all the 2x4's are grouped 2x6's etc. My only regret is I they discontinued the timber shield which I thought made the sets look nicer and more importantly protected the main components.

We researched extensively before purchasing. We kept coming back to the Gorilla play set and all of the features that this play set offered our children, nieces, nephews and all of their friends. We opted to assemble the play set ourselves. It was labor intensive, but manageable with 2 or more handy adults. It looks BEAUTIFUL, it is solid/ sturdy in the interest of safety and is very entertaining for our kiddos.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Wilderness Gym has been the perfect playset for our family. We (parents) wanted a gym without a huge footprint and the kids were badly wanting one with a tunnel slide. We didn't think we'd be able to have both but in this set we do and much more. The 3 positions on the swing beam let us switch things out for variety but still always have a swing. The clatter bridge is a huge hit. The two towers spread out the play area and provide so many places to climb around on. As parents we also appreciate the wooden roof as we live in a windy area (and they look very nice!). We had it installed a couple of weeks ago in January and the freezing weather has not stopped the kids from wanting to play outside every day. Thrilled with this gym!
