Lifetime Products sent me this 5 Gal Ice Chest/Water Cooler to test out and write a review. To be honest I’ve been waiting for a cooler this size for a long time. We do a lot of kayak camping and have wanted a cooler that fit down inside of the cargo area of our Lifetime Yukon and Stealth Pro Kayaks we have without taking up all the room. We were using the Lifetime 28 QT cooler but it was a little big. This new 20 QT or 5Gal cooler is perfect. We packed it with 8 frozen water bottles, some drinks and lunch items for a three-day kayaking trip through Glen Canyon, Colorado river. Unfortunately, they closed the river due to wind so we spent our time hiking in the area and kayaking a little closer to home in 100°F heat. This cooler kept everything cold for two and a half days sitting in the back of my truck in direct sunlight most of the time. In the end there was still a little ice left in the once frozen water bottles. I also tried it out as a water cooler by putting 15Lbs of Crushed ice in it and filling it up with “Cold” water. Two days later there was still Ice and of course Ice Cold water! Unfortunately, my wife has laid claim to this cooler because it is sturdy, light, easy to move around and keeps things cool for extended periods of time. Now I’m going to have to go buy me another one. Pros: • Size • Light Weight • Rope Handels • Ice retention • Doesn’t tip or slide in the truck or kayak • Doesn’t leak or drip from the spigot • Cleanable spigot Cons: (Kind Of) • Have to release the latches to keep the water flowing good through the spigot because of the air tight seal. • Doesn’t come with the drain cap to replace the spigot with when using it as a cooler (sold separately)

The 5 gal high performance water cooler is an awesome cooler. I am a UPS driver in the desert of Utah where the temp is slightly warm. The cooler retained ice for almost 3 days. My favorite thing about the cooler is that it can be used as a water cooler or mini ice chest. This cooler sat on my shelf in the back of my UPS truck.

We were lucky enough to be chosen to review the 5 g G all on water cooler be and it couldn’t have come at a better time as the ice maker in my fridge went out. So we went filled it full of ice and ended up using it for 5 days. The ice barely started to melt by day 2. It was great for the 5 days we used it, we got in it often as it was a warm weekend. The spigot is a little temperamental and can leak especially if you move it around a bit (pushing it around the kitchen floor). All in all we really liked it and can’t wait till schools out when we can take it on some of our summer trips or my husbands firefighting trainings.

We were so excited to receive this water cooler in exchange for our honest review. I was so excited to test this out with my dads famous homemade root beer! My dad always makes his root beer at all our family functions. For Mothers Day we put it to the test. I put the dry ice in the cooler alone to store until time to make it. 5 hours later when I opened the cooler there was fog because of how cold it was inside, and the dry ice was still the same size as when I bought it. After making the root beer, the regular ice we put in has lasted 3 days! There is still some ice in the cooler and the little bit of root beer left is still cold!! We love the shape of it. It is so much easier to stack in the car with other coolers, gear etc. It fits perfect under the upper cabinets next to the kitchen sink. (One problem we always had with our other brand water cooler.) Love the flat surface top! It’s perfect to put paper cups on or to place other things on when needed. Other things we love about it are: * Ice lasts for days! Going to be great for camping! * Markings on the inside make seeing the level of contents very easy. * The rope and plastic carrying handles are comfortable and make carrying easier * Lid with the locking latches create a tight seal to keep contents colder longer. Even got tipped and contents did not spill. * Love that we can replace the spout with a regular cooler plug and use as a regular cooler for those short day trips when a smaller cooler is needed. Overall we love the cooler and plan to use it on all our summer outings, BBQs, etc! Gonna have to get some bigger Lifetime Coolers to go with it! Best of all - Dads Famous Root Beer in an awesome Lifetime Cooler = PRICELESS!!!

I love that the Lifetime Water Cooler is so comfortable to carry, holds ice for a day (!!) and is easy enough that my littles can get water from it themselves. It’s going to be in the backdrop of our summer for sure!

I’ve used this twice now, once with water and once with ice and food. I don’t like drinking cold water, so I can’t speak to how well it does keeping water cold, but it is very convenient and the perfect size to have in the car with all my other camping gear. Five gallons is a great amount to make sure that myself and my friends all have our hiking packs filled with water. For food storage, I had ice and food In there for over 24 hours in 90° plus weather. Most of the ice remained frozen and my food stayed cold. This cooler did exactly what it’s supposed to do and I’m pleased with the quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ice lasts really long in this cooler, great for solo road trips. Good for homemade root beer, but the dispenser gets sticky. Nothin some warm soapy water cant fix! No plastic taste, unless you eat the plastic of course lol

I bought 2 of these, and after just one use, on one of them the tapper stays stuck open and the other is leaking

I love the design and the quality is fairly good the lid hinges seem a bit cheaply made but overall it’s pretty solid

I bought this because my soft sided cooler died and I needed a replacement quickly. I thought the spout in the bottom would be a good attribute for the ball field, but it leaks like nobody’s business. I will try to find a cap for it, but I’m not impressed.
